OFFICIAL WEB SITE LAUNCHED

While it's still in its infancy, the new Web home of the BGO has launched: http://www.bargameolympics.com. Athletes and fans should now consult that site for all official BGO information.

At the moment, it's pretty sparsely populated. In fact, a lot of the links are just placeholders for future content.

You will find, however, quick & dirty results on the "Results" page as well as a few photos in the "Gallery". Stay tuned for more!

Tie Breakers

In determining who advances from round-robin to medal play, ties will be broken in the following order:

  • Matches won
  • Head to head result (if just 2 players involved in tie)
  • Games won
  • Games lost
  • Average point differential

IMPORTANT: Event Rule Changes

After significant review of event rules, there is some concern that the entire BGO competition will run too long. Accordingly, two rule changes have been made to speed things along a little:

  • All round-robin matches are now best 2-of-3, rather than 3 games.
  • Darts is now 301, rather than 501.
Note that these changes have been reflected back in the original posts, so old rules are only documented here.

Event Rules - Golden Tee Golf

Golden Tee will be contested, like other events, in two stages.

The first will be a standard stroke play event. The top four finishers (four lowest scores) will advance to a medal round.

The medal round will be a match play bracket-style event. Best advancing score plays worst advancing score in the first round.

All ties will be broken with sudden death playoff holes.

A different course will be played in each round. The courses to be played will be determined by a random, blind spin of the trackball before the competition begins.

Profile - Scott "Golden Boy" Wible

6'2" 250 (solid fat)

Formerly known as the BORO's most athletic... has since focused on getting fat and kicking ass at certain bar room games. Be prepared to face hand eye coordination like you have never witnessed before, often Jordanesque. Don't let the picture scare you away, it's just two golds and one silver medal in the world bar game Olympics. Bring your so-called "A Game" and let the games begin.

[ed. BGO officials were reluctant to post this profile given the reference to the "world bar game Olympics". It's clear that the BGO is the INAUGURAL games of its kind. Any preposterous claims to medals in prior events will need to be defended on game day.]
